چکیده

In an aging society, the prevalence of Alzheimer disease (AD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) has increased. It is currently hypothesized that these diseases are caused by aggregation amyloid β (Aβ) in brain human islet polypeptide (hIAPP) islets Langerhans, respectively. Therefore, disaggregation existing aggregates a promising approach to prevention treatment both diseases. our previous studies, we found remarkable Aβ hIAPP inhibitory activity polyphenolic compounds containing catechol moieties. Compared reports on their activity, there few compounds. Additionally, findings hIAPP. this study, investigated scirpusin B, compound passion fruit seeds, related Thioflavin T (Th-T) assays transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were performed evaluate Aβ42 activities. The results showed B its activity. structure–activity relationship revealed presence moieties important for This study also polyphenols from seeds have significant against aggregation.

comparison of catalytic activity of heteropoly compounds in the synthesis of bis(indolyl)alkanes.

heteropoly acids (hpa) and their salts have advantages as catalysts which make them both economically and environmentally attractive, strong br?nsted acidity, exhibiting fast reversible multi-electron redox transformations under rather mild conditions, very high solubility in polar solvents, fairly high thermal stability in the solid states, and efficient oxidizing ability, so that they are imp...

Unfolding Novel Mechanisms of Polyphenol Flavonoids for Better Glycaemic Control: Targeting Pancreatic Islet Amyloid Polypeptide (IAPP)

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is characterised by hyperglycaemia resulting from defective insulin secretion, insulin resistance, or both. The impact of over-nutrition and reduced physical activity, evidenced by the exponential rise in obesity and the prevalence of T2D, strongly supports the implementation of lifestyle modification programs. Accordingly, an increased consumption of fruits and plant-deri...

A Study on Polyphenol Oxidase Activity During Seed Germination

KOCAQALISKAN I., DEMIR Y. & KABAR, K. 1995. A study on polyphenol oxidase activity during seed germination. Phyton (Horn, Austria) 35 (1): 37-43. English with German summary. In this work, polphenol oxidase (PPO) activities, when used four different substrates (dopa, catechol, caffeic acid, tyrosine) oxidizing activities, during seed germination of six different plants were studied in the embryos...

Yellow Passion Fruit Seed Oil (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa): Physical and Chemical Characteristics

The aim of this study was to determine the chemical composition physico-chemical properties, fatty acid and tocopherol compositions and total phenolic compounds and evaluate the radical-scavenging activity of crude oil extracted from passion fruit (Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa) seeds, aiming to use the agro-industrial by-products. The oil seed extraction was performed by Soxhlet method and t...

Antiglycative and neuroprotective activity of colon-derived polyphenol catabolites.

SCOPE Dietary flavonoids and allied phenolic compounds are thought to be beneficial in the control of diabetes and its complications, because of their ability to inhibit oxidative stress, protein glycation and to act as neuroprotectants. Following ingestion by humans, polyphenolic compounds entering the large intestine undergo extensive metabolism by interaction with colonic microbiota and it i...
